Description
Highly Sensitive Thermal Sensor
The Krypton XG50 thermal imaging monocular uses a 640×480, 12µm thermal sensor with a 50Hz refresh rate to provide high quality, crisp thermal imagery and enhanced identification of animals and their extremities — revealing even the smallest of details such as branches, grass, leaves, and terrain — regardless of adverse weather conditions or environments where thermal contrast is low.
2300m Detection Range
Combining the thermal sensor with a powerful 50mm f1.2 objective lens, the Krypton XG50 provides an unprecedented detection range of up to 2300m (of a standard 1.8m tall object or animal) in total darkness — the largest detection range any Pulsar thermal imaging device currently has to offer!
HD AMOLED Display
Thermal imagery is presented onto a 1746×1000 HD AMOLED display, providing a richly contrasted, crystal clear, and vivid picture. This display will ensure flawless, consistently high-resolution imagery.
Pulsar 5x30B Monocular
The addition of the Pulsar 5x30B quick release monocular allows the Krypton XG50 to be used as a handheld thermal imaging device. A simple turn of the monocular and the user can achieve 5x magnification for natural daytime observation with a stunning 8.7°x6.5° field of view for impressive observation capabilities.
Quick Release Adaptor
The Krypton XG50 thermal imaging module attaches easily to spotting scopes using a PSP adaptor — converting them into a fully-fledged thermal imaging device. One end of the adaptor attaches to a secure threaded joint, and the other end mounts on the lens barrel of the daytime optic.
Living up to its name, this Quick Release Adaptor takes just seconds to remove and reinstall, and for optimum comfort the precise positioning mechanism allows for perfect alignment of the thermal image in the daytime optic’s field of view. Most importantly, this Quick Release Adaptor can be mounted on the Krypton XG50 thermal imaging module when in use with the 5x30B monocular.
8 Colour Palettes
For more effective observation, 8 colour palettes optimise the device for specific tasks, reacting effectively to changing conditions in the observation area.
White Hot, Black Hot, and Red Hot are the perfect choice for object detection; Rainbow and Ultramarine are great for recognition and identification; and Red Monochrome, Sepia, and Violet are ideal for night-time observation.
Operating Modes
Four operating modes are available to enable the most comfortable, convenient viewing experience when using the Krypton XG50. These modes include Forest (for use in low temperature contrast conditions), Rocks (for use in high temperature contrast conditions), Identification (high detail mode), and User (user defined brightness and contrast settings).
Calibration Modes
The Krypton XG50’s three calibration modes (Manual, Semi-Automatic, and Automatic) equalise the microbolometer temperature background, eliminating defects and ensuring a consistent image quality.
8 Hours Battery Life
Achieve up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge (depending on temperature) thanks to the quick change replaceable IPS7 battery pack — operating effectively the whole night through without needing to be replaced.
Display Off & Instant Start-Up
Battery life can be preserved by the Display Off mode, a function that deactivates image transmission to the display, reducing the screen brightness to an absolute minimum and entering standby mode, rather than powering down the scope entirely. Pressing the power button when the device is in standby mode will activate instant start-up and the Krypton XG50 will be ready and operational in just 3 seconds.
Tough & Durable Design
The rugged but durable magnesium alloy design ensures structural integrity and protection against impact forces and vibrations. To increase operational stability this device is resistant against external mechanical, temperature, and climactic influences, and simultaneously works as a heat sink to effectively remove and dissipate heat from internal electronic components.
Operating Temperatures
The magnesium alloy housing, power unit, optics, and electronics have all been designed for use within a wide variety of temperatures and environments, meaning the Krypton XG50 will operate reliably in extreme temperatures, from -25 to +50°C.
IPX7 Waterproof
The Krypton XG50’s IPX7 waterproof rating, means it is protected against heavy rainfall, snow, fog, and other precipitation. It will even run flawlessly after immersion in up to 3 feet of water for 30 minutes.
Built-In Video Recorder
The Krypton XG50’s built-in still image and video recorder enables the user to capture once-in-a-lifetime experiences when out in the field, allowing them to relive their favourite moments over and over. The Krypton XG50 can even offer the ability to easily share these moments with friends and family using the Stream Vision 2 app. One press of the REC button is all it takes to capture hours of footage or thousands of images.
Internal & Cloud Storage
Images and videos captured on the Krypton XG50 can be stored either on the 16GB of internal memory, or on the 16GB of FREE cloud storage available to users on the Stream Vision 2 app. Photos and videos can also be downloaded to a laptop or PC via simple connection of a Micro USB cord.
Wi-Fi Module & Stream Vision 2 App
The built-in Wi-Fi module in the Krypton XG50 allows for connection of the device to Android or iOS smartphones or tablets using the Stream Vision 2 app. This app opens up a wide array of features and controls over digital functionalities. Users can store their photos and videos on the app’s 16GB of free cloud storage.
Use a smartphone or tablet as a wireless remote, controlling and adjusting the device’s settings. Every change made can be seen on the smartphone or tablet screen in real-time. Also offers the ability to record footage or take still images using a connected smart device.
Users can browse through all photos and videos recorded on the device, with the option to download and even share these files with friends.
Stay up to date through remote device updates using Stream Vision 2’s firmware update abilities, ensuring the Krypton XG50 is always running to the best of its ability on the latest firmware.
An important note: The Krypton XG50 is still compatible with the previous iteration of the Stream Vision app.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Taking Thermal & Night Vision Outside of the UK.
Thermal imaging and night vision products are strictly controlled by ITAR regulations and are subject to UK Government Export Licensing Regulations. Dependent on specification, a licence may need to be obtained prior to the export, even temporarily (e.g. holiday), from the UK.
Additionally, some countries may be embargoed, and no thermal imagers or night vision devices can be taken or exported to them. It is the responsibility of the exporter, whether it be a company or individual, to ensure that such a licence is obtained.
Failure to comply is a criminal offence.
