Stream Vision Ballistics Meets a Trusted Hunting Companion
The release of Pulsar’s firmware update 5.0 for the Trail 2 LRF XP50 thermal imaging riflescopes brings Stream Vision Ballistics compatibility to a device that is still considered a trusted workhorse.
This compatibility allows the Trail 2 LRF XP50 to be connected to the Stream Vision Ballistics app and enables precise ballistic calculations. These calculations are achieved through a cutting-edge ballistic algorithm that calculates the trajectory of a bullet and provides the suggested point of aim on the device’s display, allowing users to achieve greater accuracy when shooting at long-range.
Pulsar technicians are also working on a similar firmware update for the Trail 2 LRF XQ50 thermal imaging riflescope. This update should be released in the first half of 2024.
How to enable ballistic calculations on the Trail 2 LRF XP50:
- Download the latest version of Stream Vision Ballistics on your iPhone or Android device.
- Follow the instructions displayed on your phone or tablet to create one or more ballistic profiles.
- Connect the Trail 2 LRF XP50 to the Stream Vision Ballistics app and upload your ballistic profile(s) to the riflescope. Once you have done this, you can disconnect from the Stream Vision Ballistics app.
- Measure the distance with the Trail 2 LRF XP50’s built-in laser rangefinder with two short presses of the LRF button. The first press will activate the LRF, the second press will measure the distance and activate ballistic calculations through the riflescope.
- A suggested point of aim will be displayed on the Trail 2 LRF XP50’s display.
